Mini CT Scan

Definition:

CT stands for “computed tomography.”  Mini CT scans use advanced x-ray technology to create cross-sectional images of the sinus and temporal bones.

Having this advanced x-ray technology in our office is great because it allows us to perform a scan as part of your examination, instead of sending you off-site to a hospital or imaging center for a scan on a full-body CT scanner. This on-site imaging tool allows us to diagnose your problem and begin your treatment plan right away, giving you faster relief from your symptoms.

Facts:

Scans are quick: scans last 40 seconds for adults, and 20 seconds for pediatrics.

Scans are comfortable: patients sit upright during the scan.

Scans are easily accessible: wheelchair friendly, and scanner has open design.

Scans are convenient: scanners are located in ENT office.

Scans are safe: Mini CT scans have lower radiation than traditional CT scans
